Have you ever found yourself wonderingā¦
"Why is my body doing this?"
Maybe your periods are irregular.
Maybe you've lost your cycle altogether.
Maybe you're actively trying to conceive and feeling frustrated, discouraged, or even a little heartbroken.
Or maybe you're not thinking about pregnancy at all, but you're constantly battling food rules, body image struggles, and anxiety around eatingāand you've started to wonder if all that stress might be affecting your hormones too.
Friend, if that's you, pull up a chair and grab your coffee (or tea, no judgment here).
Because this conversation matters.
Recently on the Faith-Filled Food Freedom podcast, I sat down with hormone and fertility coach Bekah Yawn to talk about the connection between hormone health, fertility, nutrition, and faith. And whew. This conversation was packed with wisdom.
What I love most is that we didn't just talk about hormones.
We talked about the heart.
Because while nutrition absolutely matters, true ...
If the phrase āstrength trainingā immediately makes you picture a sweaty warehouse gym full of grunting gym bros slamming barbells while you awkwardly clutch your little 5-pound dumbbells in the corner⦠friend, you are not alone. š
For so many Christian women I work with, the idea of strength training feels tangled up in fear.
Fear of getting bulky.
Fear of doing it wrong.
Fear of injury.
Fear of becoming obsessive again.
Fear of walking back into the same toxic āchange your body at all costsā mentality theyāve worked so hard to break free from.
And honestly? That fear makes sense.
Especially if youāve spent years trapped in diet culture believing exercise was primarily about shrinking yourself, earning your food, burning calories, or āfixingā your body.
But hereās the truth I want you to hear today:
Strength training does not have to become another form of body obsession.
In fact, when approached from a Christ-centered, freedom-focused perspective, strength training can actu...
Letās just go ahead and say the quiet part out loudā¦
You donāt have to ālook sickā for your body to be struggling.
Whaaaat?! I know. Not exactly what diet culture taught you.
Because somewhere along the way, many of us started believing:
āIf my labs are normal⦠if my weight is āfineā⦠if I still function day-to-day⦠then I must be okay.ā
Friend⦠that is one of the biggest lies keeping women stuck.
And if youāve ever thought:
This post is for you. š
Today, weāre diving into something that doesnāt get talked about enoughāhow restriction and underfueling impact your bone health and menstrual cycle. Not in a fear-based way. Not in a shame-based way.
But in a truth-telling, grace-filled, letās-care-for-the-body-God-gave-you kind of way.
Hereās the thing about restrictionā¦
It rarely starts out extreme.
It starts with:
Let me just go ahead and say it: Knowing when you're hungry should be simple. I mean, God designed our bodies with hunger and fullness cues for a reason, right? But between diet culture, the busyness of life, and years of ignoring those signals because some influencer said we needed to eat 1,200 calories a day (š), those cues can get a little... fuzzy.
So if youāve ever found yourself asking, āAm I really hungry or just bored/stressed/anxious/all of the above?ā, you're not alone.
Today, weāre diving into the wild and wonderful world of hunger cues: how to recognize them, what messes them up, and how to tune back ināso you can start trusting your God-given signals again and nourish your body with confidence. š
"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."
ā 1 Corinthians 10:31
Okay, letās be real. Your hun...
Ah, the big question, right? As a Christian woman, you know that honoring God isnāt just about Sunday mornings and reading scriptureāit's about every part of our lives, including how we treat our bodies. But when it comes to health, wellness, and honoring God with our bodies, sometimes the waters can get a little muddy, canāt they? š¤
Is honoring God with our bodies just about avoiding certain foods or working out to maintain a certain weight? Or does it go a little deeper? ā ļøSpoiler alert:Ā it totally goes deeper! So, letās dig in, spill some tea, and look at how honoring God with our bodies is actually a freeing, joyful, and worshipful act.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 tells us, āDo you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.ā Powerful stuff, right? But what does ...
